Bio

Alok Agarwal is the Convenor of the Madhya Pradesh unit of the Aam Aadmi Party. He is also an ex officio member of the National Executive. Agarwal is a National Spokesperson of the party, and contested elections in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls from the Khandwa constituency.

Agarwal is a senior leader of the Narmada Bachao Andolan (NBA) and has led several successful movements against construction of the Sardar Sarovar Dam project in Madhya Pradesh. His Jal Satyagrah has made him a popular leader of farmers. Under his leadership, the party carried out a mass contact program with farmers called ‘Kisan Bachao Yatra’.

Agarwal is a chemical engineer from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur.
