Atishi Marlena is a member of the Political Affairs Committee of the Aam Aadmi Party. After having joined the party at the time of its inception, Atishi was a key member of the Manifesto Drafting Committee of the party for the 2013 Assembly election. She was also a Spokesperson of the party.

She is presently Advisor to Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia, primarily on Education. She has been spearheading the Delhi Government’s interventions in the field of education and works on a policy level on improving the effectiveness of various stakeholders involved in Government schools. Her passionate effort to democratize the functioning of government schools and increase accountability led to the revival of School Management Committees in Delhi.

“Politics is the only means to achieve large scale and long term change,” says Atishi, “and Aam Aadmi Party is the best vehicle of that change in the country.”


Recipient of the prestigious Rhodes scholarship, Atishi has done a Masters in Educational Research from the University of Oxford. She was a History Major at St Stephen’s College, University of Delhi.
