Bio
Deepak Bajpai is the National Treasurer and an ex-officio member of the Political Affairs Committee of the Aam Aadmi Party. Bajpai, who has an experience of almost 20 years in the field of journalism, left his job and joined AAP during the India Against Corruption movement. He is also the Secretary of the National Convenor’s Secretariat.
Deepak started the Bharat Ashara Social Organisation (BASO) in 2008. It is a non–profit organization with the vision of community service through mass participation. BASO aspires to fulfil the dreams of the specially- abled, marginalized, downtrodden and needy people of the society with collective efforts. He also started 20 free neighbourhood libraries for underprivileged kids and a free kitchen for the poor.
In the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections, Deepak was at the forefront of managing the party’s media outreach where it secured an absolute majority in the assembly, winning 67 of the 70 seats. Presently, he is the National Treasurer of the Aam Aadmi Party.
Education
Deepak is a science graduate from Kanpur.
